Total procured limit fund, 16.5% of GDP - Last year it reached 402.3 trillion lek. Tenders for goods dominate
Last year, the total limit fund procured accounted for 16.5% of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP), or a value of 402.3 trillion lekë. Referring to the annual report of the Public Procurement Agency, it is noted that in 2024 there is an increase in the ratio of the total limit fund to GDP compared to 2023 when this ratio was 6.7%. This increase in the ratio of the total published fund to GDP comes as a result of the increase in the total number of procedures published in 2024 compared to 2023, which consequently also brings an increase in the total limit fund published.
Public procurement is one of the main areas of state activity and one of the most important processes in the management of public finances.
The total number of contract notices of procurement procedures announced during the period January-December 2024 in the electronic procurement system, by contract type, service, goods, works, on the official website of the Public Procurement Agency is 6,811 procedures.
From the analysis of data for the period January-December 2024, it is noted that the largest number of announced procedures are those for the procurement of goods with 3,789 announced procedures in total, or 56% of announced procedures, followed by procedures for services with 1,796 in total, or 26%, and public works with 1,226 announced procedures in total, or 18%.
During 2024, there is an increased number of procurement procedures announced compared to 2023, specifically 1561 more procedures.
Meanwhile, the highest fund of procedures announced by type of contract is occupied by the fund of procedures of the type "Public Works" with 68% of the total, followed by procedures of the type "Goods" with 17% and "Services" with 15%.
