Albania opens the last group chapter of negotiations - Rama: We will do everything to ensure that the process does not stop

Albania has officially opened the final chapter of negotiations for membership in the European Union. In his speech, Prime Minister Edi Rama said that there is now nothing stopping Albania on the path to membership.
"We will do everything in our power to move forward with the same intensity, discipline and hard work to deliver results so that this process that we are building stone by stone does not stop. Today, Albania emerges with pride from this first phase and even with an even greater sense of responsibility. We do not represent a political party here, but an entire nation that supports the EU and EU membership like no other, more than 90% of our citizens. I would like to add that, whatever, the strong and gentle way we have faced has taught us: never take anything for granted in Brussels. When they smile at you, enjoy it but do not take it for granted. It can disappear from your face in the blink of an eye. Keep going, work hard and respond with humility and results", said the head of the Albanian government.
Commissioner for Enlargement, Marta Kos, said that the real success will be the closure of the group chapters, while describing Albania as a country where the European Union can rely.
"Opening is success, but closing chapters is the real price. Success is measured by the speed and seriousness of the adoption and implementation of legislation. We help, but it is you who deliver results. The moment you have received candidate status, it is the responsibility and commitment of the EU and the member states. It is not difficult to be positive towards your country because you deliver results. If we need an example of what the accession process is, we should look to you because you are an example.
"Today we heard that Albania's harmonization with European policy is 100 percent, we need partners we can rely on and you are one of them. We are preparing a home in Europe for you ," Kos said.
The conference closed with a celebration, Kos brought Prime Minister Edi Rama a "Coca-Cola" designed by himself and a cake with the same design and the number 6, for the opening of the six group chapters.
