Albania-Kosovo, in a joint Assembly - Rama: We want the Republic of Kosovo to be

A joint session of the two Assemblies, of Albania and Kosovo, was held in Pristina. In this session, 130 deputies were present, as well as the Prime Ministers, Edi Rama and Albin Kurti and the President of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani.

Prime Minister Rama emphasized that Albania wants the Republic of Kosovo to be recognized by more countries as soon as possible, but also emphasized that it should strengthen ties with the USA and the EU, the strategic allies that will lead Albania and Kosovo towards the EU.

"We want the Republic of Kosovo to be recognized an hour ago....."

"At this crucial stage, Kosovo must freeze the bilateral dialogue with Serbia 'indefinitely', and aim for the normalization of relations with the northern neighbor through the bilateral dialogue with the EU, breaking the umbilical cord of nationalist reciprocity with Serbia and tying the umbilical cord of European reciprocity with the EU. Kosovo unilaterally fulfills all the conditions for the normalization of relations with Serbia, not for the sake of Serbia, but for the sake of its martyrs and children and for the sake of our national union in the family of European nations with Brussels as its capital."

During her speech, President Osmani said that this session should serve as a call to action, a reminder that the common goal requires even greater ambitions.

"A strong Albania means an even stronger Kosovo. A more successful Kosovo will elevate Albania even higher. History will not judge us kindly if we do not use this moment to build the necessary unity and harmony. The prosperity of Kosovo and Albania is a duty that belongs to all of us, leaders, institutions and every citizen. Each of us must play our role in advancing the vision of our states and citizens within the families of European nations"

The Prime Minister of Kosovo Albin Kurti stated that due to the aggression of Serbia on Kosovo, the membership of the state of Kosovo in NATO is necessary.

"Albanians are not guilty of being autochthonous. We have allocated 4 million euros for the Presheva Valley, I hope that Albania will follow this example.

We in Kosovo are happy with the fact that Albania is part of NATO and a candidate to be in the EU. Kosovo has applied to be part of the EU, but Serbian aggression continues and 5 EU countries do not recognize us. Whereas, NATO is in Kosovo and Kosovo is not in NATO.

The Speaker of the Assembly of Kosovo, Glauk Konjufca, gave notes of thanks to Albania for protecting the interests of Kosovo.

We aim at the same family, Albania has moved forward on the path of integration and its lessons will be important for us despite the absurd measures that the EU has imposed on it. Kosovo remains the champion of democracy in the region and all of us as a people should be proud of this. Albanians have always been the most natural ally of Western values in the Balkans, we thank Albania for being vocal in protecting Kosovo's interests, for protecting Kosovo's speed in the international arena, in every important forum of the world and that the right of Kosovo for the protection of sovereignty and integrity, cannot be considered a violation of good neighborliness.

The Speaker of the Assembly of Albania stated that Kosovo is a national priority of Albania.

"Today we are raising to another level what our fathers did with a lot of sacrifices. Kosovo is a national priority of Albania and vice versa. The success of one, condition for the other. The rhythm of one also conditions the other".
