Saranda, with a Tourism Development Pole - The tender for the second phase, 332.5 million lek, for lot III, opens
The Albanian Development Fund has announced the opening of the tender for the second phase of investments for the transformation of public assets with development potential, lot 3, Saranda Tourism Development Pole. The limit fund made available for this project is 332 million and 523 thousand lekë.
According to the document published by the Public Procurement Agency, the Saranda Tourist Pole will be created as an Eco-Smart campus, with the aim of transforming the area into an integrated cultural and economic center that combines accommodation, tourism, art, education, culture and community life.
The project aims to revitalize degraded assets through sustainable interventions, providing a platform for the development of the local economy and the promotion of the unique values of the region. At the core of this objective is the creation of an innovative economic model that connects tourism with education, enabling the reduction of unemployment, the increase of specialized skills and the improvement of the quality of life for the local community. Through this project, Saranda aims to become an attractive tourist destination and a development center that reflects the harmony between nature, culture and sustainable development.
The intervention will focus on the area called "Kodra e Gjashtës", which is located in the inner city. The government villa located on "Kodra e Gjashtës" in Saranda represents one of the most important constructions of the socialist period in Albania. Near the villa, today there is a building that is expected to serve as a 9-year school, transforming the area from a space associated with the symbolism of the past power into a center of development and contemporary education.
On the other hand, the intervention will consist of: Rehabilitation of existing facilities; addition of new facilities: gym for the school, event space, restaurant, hotel structure and changing rooms for the swimming pool, as well as new recreational spaces.
Likewise, the parking lots and roads within the project area will be rehabilitated; outdoor spaces will be arranged to serve as the 9-year school, event space, government building, accommodation area, greenery, play and recreation areas.
