New routes in the Albanian Alps - EBRD opens tender, improving accessibility and adventure tourism infrastructure
Improving accessibility and adventure tourism infrastructure in the Albanian Alps”. This is the investment that is expected to be carried out in the north of the country, with a focus on road interventions in one of the areas with tourist potential in the country. The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development has opened the tender for interested companies, while the deadline for submitting offers is April 15.
Interventions on this road axis are part of the Infrastructure and Tourism project in Albania, which is financed by the European Union through technical assistance and investment grants in a total amount of 40 million euros, as well as from the additional sovereign loan of 60 million euros provided by the EBRD to the Albanian government.
The project is implemented by the Albanian Development Fund, while a few days ago a contract worth 1.52 million euros was signed within its framework for the rehabilitation of the road segment from the Sop roundabout to the Darzeza Bridge. The road is located in the Seman area and begins at the intersection with the Fier - Vlora National Road, Apollonia district, continues along the Hoxharë road segment and ends at the new Darzeza Bridge.
In parallel, within the framework of this program, the EBRD has also developed tenders for the improvement of the electricity network in the Albanian Alps, aiming to increase access to electricity in this area.
