"Giant" ballot for the May 11 elections - Celibashi: CEC is unprepared if 25 entities bring in candidates
For the parliamentary elections on May 11, the ballot paper will be gigantic. Unlike the 2021 parliamentary elections, the candidates will not be numbered, but are expected to be listed by first and last name. This is precisely the scenario that, according to Celibashi, the CEC is unprepared for.
"The ballot for the May 11 parliamentary elections will be gigantic, but Celibashi himself says that the CEC is unprepared if all 25 entities manage to bring candidates. The large size of the ballot also causes problems for sending it by mail to all emigrants who have registered to vote. The payment will be covered by the state budget at a cost of 50 euros round trip."
Chief Commissioner Celibashi announces that the process of sending ballots from abroad will be completed on April 8-16.
"We will see how the process of registering and approving multi-name lists goes. If this process goes normally, we will send the ballots and electoral documentation to voters from abroad between the end of the first week of April and the second week of April. So we aim to complete the process of sending ballots from abroad between April 8-16. This way, voters have time to fill them out and return them to the CEC. By the end of next week, we will have completed the procedures related to the postal service operator."
According to Celibashi, the added cost of voting from abroad is around 7.5 million euros.
