Prime Minister Rama: Free up public spaces! - "Palaces should remove the beams in parking lots and businesses should dismantle the tents"

Apartment developers should not treat public spaces around buildings as their private property and place barriers in parking lots to take money from residents. This is what Prime Minister Edi Rama said in a post on the social network Facebook, as he called for the vacating of public spaces.
"I want to clarify another element, I will appeal to those who have misunderstood for years, but this is a matter of local government in these territories, in the sense of common and private property, and here I have in mind the developers of the buildings, who after having built the buildings and with them those who own the premises in these buildings, have continued to treat the surrounding property as private property, while it cannot be private property. No one has more rights over the land around the building or over the space between the buildings than those who live in these buildings. I appeal to those who own such assets, from the beams that decide to take money for parking from residents in the most abusive way, claiming that it is their private property ," said the Prime Minister.
Rama also focused on the extension of the activity of bars to the sidewalks. According to him, anyone who does not remove the tents will face criminal prosecution.
"I call on everyone to start pulling down those beams and barriers. I call on all those who have opened up with tents and then put up those raincoats, and then use them to reopen the smoking area in the bars, to start dismantling them themselves, because not only will they be dismantled, but they will then face fines and even criminal prosecution for environmental crimes and destruction and occupation of public property."
According to Prime Minister Rama, the exercise of force, abusive will, and the closure of relevant structures, as is completely evident and unjustifiable in Vlora, has become unacceptable for many people and neighborhoods in large cities.
