Albanian Customs: Over 600 cartons of soft drinks confiscated for trademark infringement
Albanian Customs announces that the operation undertaken by the Durrës customs branch has led to the confiscation of 616 cartons of soft drinks bearing the inscription "Lemon Soda Dr Fruit", due to the violation of intellectual property rights.
According to the announcement, after an initial alert and checks carried out on the goods, the specialized structures of the Albanian Customs Administration, in cooperation with the legal representative of the exclusive holder of the “Lemon Soda” trademark in Albania, “Eurolab Internacional Grup shpk”, found that the inscription “Lemon with Soda” was essentially indistinguishable from the well-known trademark “Lemon Soda”.
Customs also informs that it was verified that the name "Dr Fruit" is not registered as a trademark in Albania nor in the international Madrid system (WIPO), reinforcing suspicions of violation of intellectual property rights.
The Albanian Customs Administration emphasizes its continued commitment to the fight against the trade in counterfeit goods and to protecting the health of Albanian consumers.
