The oil extraction company "Bankers Petroleum" is still under investigation. This was stated by the Minister of Finance, Petrit Malaj, a day ago from the Parliament podium, responding to questions from the opposition, where he emphasized that the contract of this company was revised in 2009 by the government that was in power at the time, with terms that were unfavorable to the Albanian state.
"I believe that the Bankers Petroleum contract" is a contract that was signed in 2004. It is a contract that was revised by you in 2009 with terms that were to the detriment of the Albanian state, and the Bankers Petroleum issue is an issue that was initiated by this government and by the Tax Investigation Directorate, so as far as the Bankers Petroleum issue is concerned, it is an issue that is still under investigation and the investigation will reveal who the figures involved are, both in tax evasion and in money laundering."
