Rama, from Athens: We have a competitive labor market with Greece
Prime Minister Edi Rama was in Athens where he participated, together with some of his cabinet members, in the Job Fair. In his speech on the occasion, Rama emphasized that 120 different companies offered hundreds of jobs to Albanians living and working in Greece, with better salaries than the salaries earned for the same jobs in the neighboring country.
"Before I came here, I was talking to someone who works in Athens, a cleaner in a hotel where for 21 rooms she had in care she received 850 euros, while a cleaner for 6 rooms on the Albanian coast receives 950 euros ," said Rama.
Prime Minister Rama also spoke about relations between Albania and Greece.
"The same window has been opened for Albania as for you and the Albanians of Europe, we have been given the opportunity to see the last door to enter the EU. Due to circumstances, our and Europe's stars have aligned, we have a deadline that we have agreed with them. It is the fastest deadline that has been given to any country in the history of negotiations, not only because we have done our duties well, but they want to have Albania within themselves. Things can change, we must take advantage of it. Let us sit side by side with Greece as two equal countries not only by custom but also by law, not only by emotion but also by seal. Let us and Greece be together at the stars of the EU flag, where the historic moment is ," said Rama.
Rama also added that the Albanian economy has expanded and opportunities for doing business have increased.
"Albania had a GDP of less than 10 billion, today it has 25 billion euros, two and a half times more. When they took office, per capita income was around 4,000 thousand euros, today it is around 10 thousand euros," said Rama.
