Candidates for DP MPs are selected - Voting process for primaries closes at 18:00
The Democratic Party is conducting today the voting process for the primaries that will select candidates for deputies of this political force in the parliamentary elections on May 11. The voting method is one member, one vote. Candidates will be at the District level, where voting will be held for each District separately.
The full list across the country includes 289 names of Democratic Party primaries candidates. From the main part of the lists, there are 82 candidates for Tirana. Outside the primaries, but not on the lists of candidates for deputies, there are 13 other legislators from the DP parliamentary group.
The Durrës region is one of the most important, with 37 candidates running, who will be selected through the formula of one member, one vote.
In Shkodra, the list for the primaries contains 31 names, which include well-known figures within the party, new names and some returns. Around 8 thousand members with the right to vote will vote in this district.
In the Fier District, 22 candidates are running and 7,400 members will vote.
In the race for DP candidates for deputies in the parliamentary elections of May 11, 22 candidates are competing on the list in the Elbasan District and 12,900 members with the right to vote will vote.
In the Lezha Region, 19 candidates are running and there are a total of 7,600 members with voting rights participating in this process.
In the Berat Region, 9 candidates are competing, in the Dibra Region, 12 candidates, in the Gjirokastra Region, 10 candidates, in the Korça Region, 19 candidates, in the Kukës Region, 10 candidates, and in the Vlora Region, 12 candidates.
The number of women candidates for the Primary is 89, or 31% of the total, while the number of young people is 47, or 16% of the total.
