Pensions, how much did income in the scheme increase in 10 years? - Analysis/

Revenues from social and health insurance throughout 2024 have been steadily increasing, but despite this, they have not been able to cover the growing demands for pensions and health services, as reflected in data showing increased pressure on these expenditures.

According to the study conducted by "Altax", specifically, revenues from special funds, which have reflected the increase in salaries and the number of contributors to the insurance scheme, have increased significantly over the years, exceeding 61.5 billion lek in 2014 to 139.4 billion lek in 2024, or in other words, at the level of 123.6%.

According to the analysis, this increase is necessary to support pension supplements, which are one of the most important priorities of social policy. However, it is emphasized that the pace of the trajectory of these revenues is not always in line with the increased needs for pensions and health insurance, creating a gap in the full coverage of requirements.

The document also states that health insurance revenues are higher, but this fund is also burdened by the increased demand for health services and medical treatment. Despite the positive collection of these revenues, there have been persistent concerns about the coverage of health costs, and the improvement of infrastructure and services provided has been limited.

The study concludes that this progress may be related to the increase in the level of social security and the improvement of the collection of these contributions. However, a potential problem may be the inequality in the distribution of these incomes, especially at the level of pensions and social benefits.
