The distribution of the spring bonus begins on March 3 - 730,430 pensioners at home and abroad benefit
Pensioners will be able to withdraw their spring bonus starting Monday, March 3. Pensioners will be able to receive the bonus by appearing at any Albanian Post office or at second-tier banks.
This spring bonus, which is the second after the year-end bonus, will benefit a total of 730,430 pensioners, both domestically and abroad. More specifically, this bonus will benefit 10,000 lek for pensioners who have a pension of up to 20,000 lek and a 5,000 lek bonus for those pensioners who have pensions higher than 20,000 lek.
Meanwhile, of the total number of pensioners who benefit from this bonus, there are 520,443 pensioners who receive a monthly pension of less than 20,000 lek per month and will be beneficiaries of 10,000 lek, and 209,987 pensioners who receive an old-age pension higher than 20,000 lek per month will benefit from the bonus of 5,000 lek. The financial effects resulting from the implementation of this decision are estimated at approximately 6.3 billion lek.
Prime Minister Edi Rama has previously stated that the spring bonus will be permanent for all beneficiaries, just like the bonus they receive at the end of each year. However, this bonus will be linked to the country's economic development.
Any additional increase in income that will be generated beyond the forecasts will be transferred to a special bank account. Meanwhile, an account has been opened at the Bank of Albania, which will function only for spring bonuses. Meanwhile, 724,933 pensioners benefited from the year-end bonus.
