Tirana "leads" construction - In 2024, the approximate value of permits in the capital was estimated at around 690 million euros
The latest data shows that construction permits issued in Albania have reached a total value of 106.4 billion lek in 2024, or 1 billion euros, from 89.6 billion lek approved during 2023, marking an increase of 18.8%.
"Scan Intel" has conducted a detailed analysis of the approximate value of construction permits approved for buildings and engineering works by region for 2024 and the annual change.
What is noticeable from the data is Tirana as the region with the highest weight in these figures. The value of construction permits issued in the capital reached 69.2 billion lekë, an increase of 35.9%, compared to 2023 when around 50.9 billion lekë were calculated.
The second highest value region is Durrës, where figures for 2024 indicate around 11.5 billion lek worth of new construction permits. Although it ranks second with the highest value, compared to 2023, the figure is down.
Next in line is Elbasan with 6.2 billion lek, followed by Vlora with 4.7 billion lek. If we were to talk about the annual change in the value of permits issued by region, we see that the largest increase is recorded by Lezha and Gjirokastra with 174% and 166% respectively.
Meanwhile, on the other hand, the regions with a decrease in the approximate value of construction permits approved for buildings and engineering works are Kukës with 88%, Vlora with 57%, Shkodra with 38.9%, Durrës with 14% and Fier with 0.4%.
