Rama: Farmers' union is a necessity - "Only by uniting can everyone earn 30% more"

Prime Minister Rama emphasized the importance of uniting farmers, with the aim of achieving standards for the large European Union market.
In a meeting with farmers in Krutje, Lushnja, he mentioned concrete examples of success of farmers united in the process of collection, packaging, marketing and sale. Rama promised support for these initiatives, emphasizing that the role of municipalities is key to the concretization of the initiatives.
"There is no time to waste on theories about whether this is necessary or not. Of course it is necessary, but there are drawbacks to doing business. The idea is that you join because the interests of both parties want this and both parties benefit from this. This is very simple. We will be in a market with many opportunities, but also deadly challenges for a company. To become part of that market, we not only need a food safety standard for Albanians, but we also need the same standard as in Europe here. Only by joining together does everyone earn 30% more. It is a done deal. Only in production, together in sales. Each has their own land, but when they go out on the market together, they create mass, create negotiating power for the price, create guarantees and create sustainability," said Rama.
