Rama: The 3 peaks we must reach by the end of the mandate!
Leader of the Socialist Party, Rama, also stated during his speech that the three goals that we must achieve by the end of the mandate are amending the Constitution, changing the number of female MPs from 140 to 101, and the new building for the Parliament.
"We must seek within ourselves an inner necessity to see everything we have done with a different eye, the eye of one who has been tasked with properly doing a good job that was done unsatisfactory by someone else. We need a new will to bring out something new from ourselves. We need a new approach to old problems and new challenges. A compact force that functions like a champion team. We need this mindset in every field, in parliament, government, municipality," he added.
"Our governing program has never been more concrete. Our mission to join Europe has never been clearer. To close the accession negotiations in the next 27 months, to enable ratification by the end of this mandate in 27 parliaments of the member states for the ratification of the decision for accession and to raise the flag of Ismail Qemali at the end of this mandate in the EU. These are the three peaks that must be reached one after the other in time to realize the long-started ascent of Albania to the home of its birth and its family. But the reaching of these peaks is not written either by fate or by God. But it will happen through the work and patience of the 400 or so people who are in this hall," the Prime Minister said.
"Never have the peaks been as clear as today. The ordinary people of this country make up the lion's share. They gave us the greatest representative power ever, since we started in 2013. With the new strength of a meaningful example, which should pull back, not only an entire people, but a centuries-old legacy, 53 out of 83 members of the new parliamentary group, are entering for the first time. We have more new deputies entering for the first time, from the entire magnificent body of losers ," said Rama.
"Elisa, Niko, Taulant, together with Majlinda and Adea, had the task of drafting a project during the summer for the construction of new parliamentary committees. All in function of EU membership. They have studied the parliamentary organization schemes in a number of EU countries. In more than 3 decades, almost 3 decades since the adoption of the Constitution of Albania, we need a new reorganization for several important institutions, including the Albanian Parliament. The first thing, as a rare thing, that every Albanian agrees on, is the excess number of MPs. Reducing the number of MPs to at least 101 would only have a positive impact. Secondly, the Albanian Parliament approves and issues laws, but does not yet have its own law, does not have financial independence, the Albanian Parliament is without a House ," said the Prime Minister.
