The Government approves the development of the former Metalurgjiku in Elbasan - Transformation of the industrial zone to realize investment projects
Not more than 2 months ago, the new development plan for the transformation of the former Metallurgical Combine area in the city of Elbasan was presented.
Meanwhile, the Council of Ministers has approved a decision to this effect, which assigns the Albanian Investment Corporation with special tasks for the identification, consolidation and development of state property in the industrial zone. This decision aims to create the basis for the implementation of strategic investment projects in this area with high industrial potential.
The Albanian Investment Corporation will undertake all measures to consolidate state property, including cooperation with the State Cadastre Agency, state-owned companies and private entities to clarify the legal status of properties.
In parallel, a detailed central development plan and a concrete project for the development of the area will be drafted, in cooperation with the institutions responsible for territorial planning and development.
The deadlines for responses from the relevant institutions have been set at 5 days from the receipt of the official request from KISH, while the Ministry of Economy will monitor and evaluate the progress of fulfilling the tasks.
This initiative comes at a time when the Albanian government is focused on activating public properties to promote economic development, create new jobs, and attract foreign and domestic investments in priority sectors.
The area of the former Metallurgical Plant represents a strategic space, with considerable potential for industrial, logistical and technological development.
