Revitalization of the “Asllan Rusi” Sports Palace - Government authorizes the Investment Corporation for the PPP, 118,000 m² project
The Government has authorized the Albanian Investment Corporation to act as a property developer, with the aim of implementing the investment project “Revitalization of the 'Asllan Rusi' Hand-held Gaming Palace”.
According to the decision, the Corporation will be responsible for opening and conducting the competitive procedure for the selection of the private partner, which will develop the property through the venture instrument, making this entity the contracting authority.
The Albanian Investment Corporation was previously authorized by the Municipality of Tirana to draft the relevant project, which, as confirmed by the government's decision, will be financed through a public-private partnership scheme.
Meanwhile, according to KISH, the main goal of the project is to improve the quality of infrastructure through the reconstruction and modernization of the "Asllan Rusi" Sports Palace, transforming it into a multifunctional space that meets contemporary standards for sports activities and public events, with a total area to be developed by the private investor of 118,000 m².
Also, according to KISH, "through the revitalization of the sports center, the project is expected to attract more events and activities, promoting local economic development and the creation of new jobs, while providing a new space for social, cultural and sports activities, improving the quality of life for citizens and strengthening community cohesion."
The project also supports the revival of sports in Albania, encouraging the participation and development of new talents.
