School safety increases - 77 new officers certified, bringing the total to 400
77 new security officers are being certified, who will serve in pre-university education institutions. The Minister of Education and Sports, Ogerta Manastirliu, said that these officers will serve in educational institutions, guaranteeing more security for students.
"Through the latest Government decision that we have approved, we have paved the way for an increase in the number of security officers in schools, deciding that in schools with more than 900 students we will have two security officers and in schools with at least 350 students we will have one security officer in the school. This ratio improves, therefore, the number of students and security officers in schools from the level we have today with about 270 security officers, will increase to 400 security officers in schools, including vocational education, where we have included for the first time the role of the school security officer. "
For his part, the Minister of Interior, Ervin Hoxha, said that with the "Safety in Schools" package, a system is being built where quality education and safety go hand in hand, every day, in every school in Albania.
"This new safety network is supported by modern technology that is being put into operation through the "Smart City" project, police patrols, education about risks from an early age, and institutional cooperation."
Finally, Minister Manastirliu said that technology and innovation are becoming part of the solutions for increasing safety in schools.
