New Draft Law on the State Education Agency - From exams to diplomas, what is expected from the new educational structure?
The draft law "On the Establishment of the State Educational Agency" has been published in public consultations, which aims to organize the functioning, duties and competencies of the Educational Services Agency, as well as to act as an autonomous institution and under the supervision of the minister responsible for education whose mission is to guarantee the public interest in the provision of services in the field of education, regulated professions, national and international assessments, promotion with the aim of improving educational services and creating favorable conditions in the public interest.
In the draft law, the agency's functions are to provide contribution to the drafting of educational policies, carry out the process of assessing student achievement, process and analyze the results of national exams, assessments and state exams, issue state matura diplomas, as well as administer the state database for state exams and other digitized exams, etc.
But what will be the agency's funding sources?
Referring to the draft law, the State Education Agency will be financed in a balanced manner from the State Budget and the revenues generated from its activity. The Agency's annual budget is used autonomously, in accordance with the legislation in force in the Republic of Albania on budgetary and financial management.
