Minimum wage 500 euros, average wage 1000 euros/ What are the other priorities

A competitive, inclusive labor market in line with EU standards, where every Albanian citizen has real opportunities for quality employment, high salaries and sustainable professional development, is one of the other objectives of the Rama 4 government.

By 2025, the minimum wage is expected to reach 500 euros, with 18 months without any additional taxes for low-wage workers. The national average wage will reach 1,000 euros by 2030, while in the public sector it will reach 1,200 euros.

The salary of military personnel, currently the highest in the region, will continue to increase and will reach the NATO average in 2029. On the other hand, the average salary of teachers has doubled, from 420 euros to over 950 euros and is projected to reach 1,250 euros by 2030.

Regarding general unemployment, it is aimed to reduce it to 6% by 2030, while youth unemployment is below 15%. As in other mandates, strengthening wage equality and active policies for the employment of women will be objectives of this mandate as well.

In the next 4 years, employment services will be transformed with a smart career guidance system and a dedicated platform for immigrants who want to return and work in Albania.

On the other hand, vocational education will also be in focus during this mandate. The European Union Youth Guarantee will offer jobs, training or education to over 40,000 young people within 4 months of registration. Along with it, the dual model of vocational education in partnership with business and the international certification of qualifications will be expanded.

By 2030, 1 in 3 students will pursue vocational education, vocational schools are expected to turn into multifunctional centers with modern dormitories and short-term courses for in-demand professions.

Also, dedicated programs will be built for the diaspora for the return of talents, transfer of expertise, and employment mediation in priority sectors.

Over the course of 4 years, the aim is to guarantee equal working conditions, dignified treatment, as well as a sustainable and reliable social system.

Increasing wages will increase the purchasing power of citizens. A higher minimum and average wage will guarantee greater stability for Albanian families and provide a real and deserved appreciation for every employee.
