Wine producers, declarations by January 15 - New regulation/ Obligation for cultivated areas and quantity of products

The high level of informality in the wine sector has led the government to take measures to create a complete database with detailed data.
The government has drafted a new regulation for all operators: harvesters and producers registered in the vineyard register, processors and bottlers, for keeping declarations, the forms that must be completed by them, as well as the method of collecting information on potential production.
Referring to the new regulation published in the Official Journal, mandatory for all operators registered in the vineyard register, producers must submit a production declaration regarding the production of the current wine year by January 15 of each year. The declaration must contain the identity of the producer; the place where the products are held; the category of products used for the production of wine: grapes, grape must or new wine still in fermentation, the name and address of the suppliers; the volume, indicated in hectoliters or 100 kg, of the wine products received since the beginning of the wine year and held on the date of the declaration, divided by color (red/pink or white), the category of products used.
The production declaration form shall be submitted to the Regional Agricultural Extension Agencies of the respective district where the enterprise is located. The declaration must be submitted even if the production in the respective wine year was equal to zero.
Likewise, producers, processors and bottlers registered in the vineyard register must submit a stock declaration by September 10 of each year.
This declaration must contain the identity and location of the products.
Harvesters must submit a harvest declaration by January 15 of each year, which must contain the identity of the harvester; the area planted with vineyards in production (in hectares and referring to the location of the vineyard plot); the quantity of grapes harvested (in 100 kg); the destination of the grapes (in hectoliters or 100 kg).
Regarding the areas planted with vineyards, checks will be carried out by the institution responsible for the vineyard register in order to maintain an updated register. The regulation also provides for administrative sanctions for representatives of the sector who do not comply with it.
