Police: Beware of fraudulent SMS messages on your phone! They are “disguised” as postal services for delivering packages
Citizens should be wary of fraudulent messages coming to their mobile phones. The Cybercrime Investigation Directorate of the State Police informs citizens that fraudulent SMS messages are circulating, which falsely present themselves as notifications from postal services for the delivery of packages.
These messages contain suspicious links and require urgent action from citizens.
Their goal is to acquire personal data; steal banking information; and gain unauthorized access to financial accounts.
The Directorate for the Investigation of Cybercrimes emphasizes that these are fraud attempts and calls on citizens to exercise maximum caution.
Specifically, you appealed to citizens not to click on links sent from unknown numbers; not to provide personal or banking information, and not to follow instructions that require urgent action without verifying them.
The Directorate for the Investigation of Cybercrimes recommends the immediate deletion of such messages; not interacting with their content and reporting any suspicious cases to official contacts.
