Olta Xhaçka elected Vice-President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe
Albania has secured a high level of representation in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, following a unanimous decision that elected Albanian MP, Olta Xhacka, to the position of Vice-President of this prestigious institution.
Xhacka himself announced the news through a post on Facebook, where he expressed his gratitude for the trust given and emphasized that this election is clear proof that Albania has a voice, weight and vision in the international arena.
"Honored for the trust placed in me today, through the unanimous election, as Vice-President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe. This is not just a new task — it is a strong message of belief that Albania has a voice, weight and vision," Xhacka wrote.
She underlined that in this role she will be committed to strengthening Albania's voice in defense of democracy, the rule of law and human rights, as well as to supporting Kosovo in the process of membership in the Council of Europe, Ukraine in its efforts for justice and peace, as well as to promoting reforms that strengthen Albania's credibility as an international partner.
