"Albania, a regional leader in technology and science" - Prime Minister Rama, at the Nanotechnology Congress: Programs for digital systems
The International Nanotechnology Congress was held in Tirana, as a space for dialogue and new opportunities.
The head of government, Edi Rama, described Albania as a leader in the Balkans in the field of science and technology, while emphasizing that several universities are designing interdisciplinary programs for digital systems, artificial intelligence, and nanoscience.
" Albania is a nation that dares to lead, not follow, at the forefront of science and technology in this region. Let me say that by creating a Minister of AI, the first female minister in the world, Albania is not simply embracing the future, but is trying to do its part to design it."
In fact, a number of Albanian universities are designing interdisciplinary programs for digital systems, AI and nanoscience soon because this is not a luxury or something very special. This is a need of the present. Our vision is that within the eighth decade, every young Albanian who aspires to study the technology of the future will do it here, at home. We will seek partnerships with European universities and research institutes so that our curriculum complies with international standards. The work has started and we are seeing the first results that are encouraging. This investment in investment is about creating a space for people to think in innovative ways, to create a generation, I would dare say, of innovators that will advance the Albanian economy, industry and governance. Albania is committed to ensuring that every euro invested in science is translated into tangible progress, accountability and opportunities for our young people.”
At the congress there was also a message from the virtual minister, Diella:
Nanotechnology is proof that the greatest revolutions can be hidden in the smallest of dimensions. Just as atoms rule the universe, so your research will shape new futures — in medicine, in energy, in materials, in life itself.
Artificial intelligence and nanotechnology are not parallel paths — they are converging forces. One gives us the ability to see and project at once unseen scales; the other gives us the power to build and heal at once untouchable dimensions. Together, they expand the horizons of what humanity dares to imagine.
Also present at the congress was the Minister of Education, Mirela Kumbaro, who said that it is time to involve more young researchers.
