15-year bonds attract investors - How was the demand and supply in the first auction for 2026?

The beginning of 2026 is marking a positive trend in the government securities market in Albania, with a significant decline in yields for all maturities. According to data from the Bank of Albania, in the first auction held this week for 15-year bonds, the uniform yield received and the coupon fell to 5.67%, from 6.19% in the last auction in November last year.
This decline was mainly determined by the high investor demand, which significantly exceeded the initial offer. The Ministry of Finance had announced an amount of 2 billion lek, but investor demands reached 6.05 billion lek, forcing the issue to increase by 15% according to regulations, for a total amount of about 2.3 billion lek. If the amount had not increased, the yield could have been even lower, indicating the strength of market interest.
Abundant liquidity in the market and high demand from investors are positively impacting the reduction of the cost of financing for the state. In addition to 15-year bonds, all other maturities are also recording lower yields, reflecting a more favorable investment climate.
Government bonds are instruments of high interest to investors, as they offer capital security, potential portfolio growth and opportunities for investment diversification in the medium and long term. For this year, the Ministry of Finance has planned regular bond auctions, aiming to benefit from the high demand and favorable market climate, which also contributes to the stability of public finances.
In conclusion, the first 2026 auction for 15-year bonds shows high investor interest and a downward trend in yields, signaling that the state can secure cheaper financing and strengthen the government securities market in the coming months.
For 15-year bonds, the market shows high interest and stability, so for long-term investors it is a favorable moment to enter, especially for those seeking security and predictable profit over 15 years.
