Urban renaissance 2.0 begins/ Rama: The legalization process will be completed within 2028
This Monday, Prime Minister Edi Rama began with a meeting with MPs and mayors in continuation of the vision "Albania 2030". Public spaces were the main points of discussion, while Rama stated that urban renaissance 2.0 will now begin.
"This will be urban renaissance 2.0 in Tirana and in all the big cities. Shkodra, Lezha which surprisingly or not so surprisingly have fewer problems, because in Lezha the "police" are in charge. Then Durres, Tirana, Vlora, Fier, Elbasan, Korça are the same, even though the "police" are not in charge, with fewer problems of this nature."
While emphasizing that Tirana is one of the hottest areas for occupying public spaces, Rama warned that the story of building today, legalizing tomorrow will end.
"We do not have a minute to lose, because we have undertaken to enter the European Union and we have undertaken to conclude the legalization process within 2028, which includes all the digitalization of maps, etc., etc. But forget it, whoever will legalize anything in violation of the law and after the deadlines set by the law. The story of building today, to legalize tomorrow, will no longer work and all those buildings built for profit or any type of building built in violation of public space, public infrastructure, infrastructure projects, protected areas, critical infrastructure will be leveled."
Prime Minister Rama declared that all attempts to build without permits and to occupy the territory will be stopped.
