From the institution's finances to television piracy - AMA reports to

The Audiovisual Media Authority has reported to the Committee on Human Rights and Public Information Means and the Committee on Civic Initiatives on its activities during 2024.

The Secretary General of the AMA spoke about the institution's finances and the reasons for the decline in the institution's profits.

"Profits have decreased due to increased operating expenses and due to salaries and insurance, as AMA employees enjoy the status of civil servants. During 2024, we had a salary increase, approved by the government. This increase also reflected the decrease in profit during 2024."

Among other things, the Audiovisual Media Authority's reporting also focused on television piracy.

"Regarding the respect of broadcasting rights, during 2024, a very large number of field inspections were carried out, in cable, IPTV, OTT entities, there was also innovation in carrying out controls by specialists of the Inspection and Supervision Directorate, who have also started monitoring online networks, identifying a number of cases of abusive sales of audiovisual products. After identifying the violators, AMA, with official evidence, reported them to other law enforcement institutions, such as the State Police, the Prosecutor's Office, depending on the specifics of the case. In December 2024, an operation was successfully carried out to capture several entities," said Krasniqi.

AMA Chairwoman Armela Krasniqi also spoke about the institution's cooperation with TikTok and the measures taken to ban videos with inappropriate content.
