Underdeclaration of salaries in construction, Taxes inspect 9 of the largest real estate companies
In implementation of the Operational Plan in the Construction sector, the Tax Investigation Directorate, in cooperation with the Field Verification and Coordination Directorate, has carried out controls on 9 entities that operate as real estate agencies.
The controls focused on verifying the declaration of real salaries of employees, their registration with the tax authority, the realization of sales, the issuance of fiscalized invoices, as well as performing other necessary verifications during the control process.
The inspections identified serious violations: undeclared employees, non-tax documentation, lack of transparency in prices, and failure to comply with legal obligations for invoicing and fiscalizing sales.
Based on the evidence collected, including interviews and self-declarations of employees, the specialized structures of the Tax Administration also seized computer units, in order to continue the in-depth investigation, further document tax violations and refer to the relevant justice bodies. From the information obtained in the computer units, it results that there is tax evasion in relation to the sales prices of apartments.
The Tax Administration announces that the action just launched is not temporary. It will continue with seriousness and determination against any entity that does not reflect real salaries in future payrolls, harming employee pensions, fair competition and the public interest.
We invite all taxpayers in the construction field to immediately declare their real salaries, to avoid administrative and criminal measures, provided for by the legislation in force, for the act of concealing income.
