Prime Minister Rama writes to US President Trump: "Privilege and honor to express my full readiness to the Peace Board"
Prime Minister Edi Rama has forwarded to President Donald J. Trump his response to his invitation to participate in the "Peace Board" for Gaza.
At the top of the letter, Prime Minister Rama thanks US President Trump for the personal invitation to be part of it, as well as for the invitation to the Republic of Albania to serve as a founding member.
According to Rama, at a time when conflicts and discord too often dominate the international landscape, peace must be actively shaped and not passively awaited or endlessly discussed in political forums, while around the globe innocent lives are lost in vain every minute. The Peace Board appears as the embodiment of this urgent necessity.
"By simultaneously addressing the immediate consequences of conflicts and the deeper structural causes that produce instability, this initiative has the potential to become a truly transformative model of peacebuilding at the global level. It is clear that, as a new international organization, the Peace Board is not conceived as another forum of declarations, procedures and deferred responsibilities, but as a focused and purposeful instrument of global leadership and responsibility," writes Prime Minister Rama in the letter to US President Donald Trump.
Rama emphasizes that it is both a privilege and an honor to express my full willingness to contribute to this important effort and to become fully part of a joint commitment that aims to translate the vision into action.
In the letter, Prime Minister Edi Rama underlines that, "The Republic of Albania has long been a staunch ally of the United States of America, bound by shared values, mutual respect, and a shared commitment to freedom, democracy, and international security."
According to him, the Albanian people will always remember and will constantly appreciate the principled and decisive role of the United States of America, towards establishing peace and stability in our region at critical moments of our common history. In this spirit of enduring partnership, I would like to reiterate that the Republic of Albania stands resolutely alongside the United States of America, in all efforts to promote peace, security and constructive global engagement.
According to Rama, this commitment will soon be forwarded to the Albanian Parliament for approval.
