The Oil and Aviation Museum will be established in Kuçova - Tender opens for the design of the museum and the redevelopment of the center

Kuçova is set to enter a new phase of urban and cultural transformation. The oil and aviation city is preparing to bring its history back to the public spotlight, through the construction of an Oil and Aviation Museum and the redevelopment of the main boulevard and the square in front of the City Hall. The project aims not only to preserve historical memory, but also to create a new civic, educational and tourist space, giving Kuçova a new role on the cultural map of the country.
In this context, the Municipality of Kuçovë has officially taken the first step towards the realization of this project by opening the procurement procedure for the study-design of two main interventions.
According to the design documents, the new museum will be built as a modern and contemporary structure, combining three main pillars of the city's identity: aviation, with Kuçova as a historical air base; oil, as the foundation of the area's industrial development; and urban and social life, from the Kingdom period to the present day. The facility is expected to extend over a plot of approximately 9,000 square meters, with exhibition halls, educational spaces, a digital archive, social facilities and an outdoor square for cultural activities. The museum aims to be not just an exhibition building, but a reference point for education, tourism and civic identity.
In parallel with the museum, the project also includes the redevelopment of the central boulevard of Kuçova, with a length of about 250 meters, as well as the transformation of the square in front of the Municipality into a functional community space. The intervention aims to improve the sidewalks and greenery, increase safety for pedestrians, partially return the boulevard to a pedestrian zone and create a square suitable for events, fairs and civic activities.
The project is considered one of the most important urban and cultural investments for Kuçova, with the aim of revitalizing public life, strengthening the city's historical identity, and turning the urban center into a more vibrant, accessible, and attractive space for residents and visitors.
