Social networks, the main "weapon" of Albanian businesses/ Eurostat:

Nowadays, company marketing has increasingly shifted towards social networks, where the audience is wider and the interaction more direct. Most companies have chosen to use their advertising strategies through digital platforms, but how widespread is this practice in Albania compared to other countries?

According to the latest data from the European Statistical Agency (Eurostat), Albanian companies with over 10 employees show a very high use of social media. Albania ranks fourth in Europe, with around 86% of these companies using social networks to promote and raise awareness of their activity. For comparison, the European Union average stands at 63.5%, which shows that Albanian companies rely significantly more than the European average on this form of marketing.

This trend proves that social networks have become one of the main advertising tools for businesses in the country, playing an important role in building image and increasing brand recognition.

How do the other countries in the region fare? Montenegro ranks 10th in Europe, making it the second-largest country in the region, just behind Albania. Meanwhile, Bosnia and Herzegovina ranks second-to-last in the region with a score of 66.8%. Serbia ranks last, where the use of social media for advertising purposes does not yet seem to be a high priority for companies.

As for the European leaders in this regard, according to Eurostat, Finland leads the continent, where almost the majority of companies have a broad and active presence on social networks. Following it are Malta and Denmark, countries that have invested significantly in digital marketing. In contrast, in some other countries such as Hungary, Croatia and Bulgaria, the use of social networks by companies is not presented as a top priority.
