Over 22 thousand jobs, under scrutiny - How effective has the fight against informality been?
The Labor Inspectorate has intensified inspections across the country, inspecting 880 entities and 22,231 workplaces during the recent period. Of these inspections, 191 were advisory inspections, while 625 administrative measures were taken for violations found.
The Inspectorate has also handled 99 complaints from citizens and employees, guaranteeing the protection of rights in the workplace and increasing legal security.
However, the Investment Council's progress-recommendations report highlights that informality in employment remains a major challenge. The strategy against informality still needs to be drafted and approved, with a clear action plan, defined deadlines and responsible institutions, always in consultation with business.
Experts emphasize that the implementation of this strategy would have a direct impact on improving the business climate, increasing legal security for employees and reducing the informal economy. This would create a fairer, more competitive and more sustainable labor market, especially for young people seeking employment opportunities in the country.
Finally, the authorities call for closer cooperation between institutions and businesses, so that the strategy can be implemented quickly and effectively, bringing real benefits to employees and the Albanian economy.
