“Towards a cleaner fleet” - DPSHTRR: 30.9% increase in plug-in hybrid registrations

The vehicle market is moving towards cleaner and more efficient technologies. The General Directorate of Road Transport Services reports that during the period January-October 2025, plug-in hybrid electric vehicles are occupying a dominant share of vehicle registrations with 0 kilometers, reaching 55.9% of the total.
Compared to the same period in 2024, this category has marked a significant increase of 30.9%, reflecting citizens' increasingly high interest in vehicles that combine performance with environmental protection.
This data shows citizens' orientation towards vehicles with higher energy efficiency and reduced environmental impact.
Plug-in hybrid vehicles represent an important transitional solution between traditional and fully electric engines, offering the ability to operate on both electric and fuel power, depending on usage needs.
The General Directorate of Road Transport Services emphasizes that this is a step towards reducing urban pollution, saving energy and creating a more modern, more efficient and more environmentally friendly vehicle fleet.
