Over 1.6 billion lek for urban regeneration of housing in 12 regions - ADF opens the competition, aiming to increase energy efficiency and improve conditions
The Albanian Development Fund has announced the opening of the competition for the project "Urban Regeneration of Housing Stock, Phase IV", which envisages interventions in 12 regions of the country, with the aim of improving housing conditions, energy efficiency and the urban landscape.
According to the document in the Public Procurement Agency, the project has been divided into two groups of regions. The first group includes Elbasan, Korça, Berat, Vlora, Fier and Gjirokastra, while the second group includes Shkodra, Kukës, Lezha, Durrës, Tirana and Dibra. For each of the two projects, the estimated limit fund is 833 million and 333 thousand lekë. In total, the estimated fund amounts to about 1 billion and 666 million lekë.
The purpose of the investment is to rehabilitate the existing housing stock and improve the infrastructure around them. According to the project, the interventions aim not only to change the appearance of the buildings, but also to increase the energy efficiency, safety and lifespan of the buildings.
One of the main interventions will be the thermal insulation of the facades, which will improve the energy performance of the buildings and their protection from atmospheric factors. It is also planned to rehabilitate damaged facade surfaces, implement decorative and protective finishes, and arrange various elements that pass through or interfere with the facade of the buildings.
According to the document, the project will also include work on terraces and rainwater drainage systems. Meanwhile, in certain areas, improvements to the water supply system are also planned.
Part of the project will also be artistic interventions, through the realization of murals on selected facades. The aim is that the physical rehabilitation of the buildings is also accompanied by the improvement of the urban image of the neighborhoods. According to the project's forecasts, the investment is expected to bring direct improvement of the living conditions for the communities living in these blocks. In addition to the aesthetic aspect, the interventions aim to reduce energy losses and increase the comfort of the residents.
Buildings renovated according to energy efficiency principles not only reduce energy consumption, which consequently leads to a reduction in emissions, protecting the environment, but also provide comfortable living conditions for citizens.
