Support for agriculture, Deputy Prime Minister Balluku and Ministers Malaj and Salla conclude meetings

The government's dialogue with farmers on changes to the agricultural subsidy scheme in 2026 has concluded with a final meeting in the Fier region. Minister of Agriculture Andis Salla announced on his social media that 23 such meetings have been held nationwide.
In his post, Sala writes:
With Deputy Prime Minister Belinda Balluku and Minister of Finance Petrit Malaj, at the closing meeting of the national hearings tour. With farmers from Patos, Roskovec, Mallakastra and Fier, we closed a co-drafting process that started in Librazhd and extended to all regions of the country, with 23 field meetings.
This round of hearings has placed the farmer at the center of policymaking and has built a clear picture of the real needs of the sector. On this basis, the National Scheme 2026 is being conceived, through the analysis of farmers' suggestions, with the aim of addressing the missing support, reviewing the criteria, expanding the benefits and maximizing the impact of public funds, for a fairer, more efficient support and aligned with European Union standards.
The National Scheme 2026 will launch with an initial budget of 5.2 billion lek, 16% higher than a year ago, and will be accompanied by integrated financial instruments, such as soft loans with interest rates of up to 2% supported by a state guarantee of up to 70%, as well as VAT compensation, to reduce production costs, promote formalization and increase the value of #MadeInAlbania products.
Financing instruments are open to all farmers, you must apply, meet the criteria and benefit from the support you are entitled to.
