MatchMaker Albania 2, interest of well-known international companies in Albania

In his podcast "Flasim", Prime Minister Edi Rama has assessed that the interest of large international companies in Albania is growing. Referring to the second edition of MatchMaker Albania, Rama said that our country is clearly ranking in the classification of countries in this region as the country with the greatest and deepest transformation of the last decade.

Rama stated: This week the second edition of MatchMaker Albania took place, an activity that brings together around 1,200 participants, nearly 500 international investors from more than 40 countries, thus creating a real opportunity in a concrete space, where ideas, projects and goals to create synergy in the function of cooperation to invest in Albania take shape through hundreds and hundreds of direct meetings between representatives of various enterprises, which precisely this activity enables them to get to know each other's projects in detail or with projects that await new partnerships, both from the public and private sectors.

And what was also clear in this second edition was the increase in interest, the increase in real opportunities that can be concretized based on mutual interest, which then turns into commitment and the full presence of well-known international companies, which are no longer in Albania simply for a symbolic or accidental presence, but are in Albania because Albania is increasingly seen as a destination for investors.
This is directly related to what I emphasized in my speech at the opening of this second edition of MatchMaker Albania, that Albania is no longer in the phase where it is presented as a country with potential for the future, but is in a new phase where the future is today.
And what can be said with full confidence is that now the model that we inherited when we came to government, an economy based on low labor costs, has given way to a model that creates added value, that creates quality and long-term sustainable partnerships.
The former model, which was the model of a country with two to three million tourists, where we Albanians were also counted as tourists every time we entered and exited, and with 300-400 million euros in foreign investment per year on average, has given way to another model in a country that has 12 million tourists per year and has exceeded the figure of 1.5 billion euros in foreign investment per year, clearly ranking in the classification of countries in this region as the country with the greatest and deepest transformation of the last decade.
