More expensive fuels, Transparency Board approves price increase

Oil will be sold at 15 lek more per liter, while gasoline will be sold at 6 lek more per liter. This is the decision taken today by the Transparency Board. The announcement made today regarding the wholesale and retail price ceilings states:
"The Transparency Board on March 28, 2026, at its next meeting, decided:
The retail price of the gasoil by-product of the SSH EN 590 standard shall be no more than 218 lek/liter, while the wholesale price shall be no more than 206 lek/liter.
The retail price of the SSH EN standard gasoline by-product should be no more than 181 lek/liter, while the wholesale price should be no more than 169 lek/liter.
The prices set by the Board will come into effect today, March 28th at 10.30 pm and will be valid until the next board meeting where the changes in sales prices will be reflected.
We draw the attention of every operator of wholesale and retail sales of petroleum by-products to the obligation to implement this decision. In case of violations found by various operators, the suspension of activity will be decided.
"The Ministry of Economy and Innovation, together with the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy, are committed to protecting the interests of Albanian consumers and preserving the principles of fair competition in the market," the Transparency Board said in a statement.
