New SMS scam in the name of e-Albania for "driving fines", police appeal to citizens
The State Police informs citizens that a new fraud scheme through SMS messages has been identified, similar to that of the "Albanian Post", for which a report has been filed by the institution itself (Albanian Post), with the structures for the Investigation of Cybercrimes in the State Police.
The messages are falsely presented as notifications from e-Albania for the payment of vehicle fines and contain fake links that direct users to fake pages, with the aim of acquiring personal and banking data.
These messages are a scam and have no connection to e-Albania or state institutions.
Citizens are advised:
* Do not click on links sent via SMS from unknown numbers
* Do not provide personal or banking information on unconfirmed sites
* Not to act under the pressure of messages that create urgency
Recommended:
* Only use the official website https://e-albania.al
* Immediate deletion of such messages
* Reporting any incident to the authorities
