The new Albania-Montenegro connection is nearing completion - Works on the Shiroka-Zogaj axis, 6.5 km, are being accelerated

The construction of the Shiroka panoramic road is nearing completion, a strategic investment that will create a new connection between Albania and Montenegro. Part of the mosaic of investments on the western shore of Lake Shkodra, this road segment turns the city into an important point as the regional center.
The Shiroka-Zogaj road is part of an investment package to improve road infrastructure and ease traffic in the city's tourist areas. The axis, with a total length of 6.5 kilometers, included the expansion of 4.5 kilometers of the existing road along the lake.
In addition to the main segment, the project also includes a bypass in the center of Zogaj village, creating two key nodes that improve circulation and turn the area into an important tourist and economic corridor with regional impact. Prime Minister Edi Rama shared views of this road, which is in its final phase. In addition to the impact on better access to infrastructure for local communities, the road is expected to increase tourism in the area.
The Shiroka-Zogaj axis has recorded a significant increase in traffic users in recent years, especially during the summer season, due to the increase in domestic and foreign tourists, enjoying the natural amenities along Lake Shkodra and the various tourist attractions. For these reasons, the rehabilitation of this road became a necessity.
