New obligations for digital platforms in reporting income

The Tax Administration successfully concludes the preliminary phase of harmonization of legislation for the implementation of the DAC7 Directive, which imposes new obligations on digital platforms in reporting income generated by sellers and services provided through them.
According to this administration, this initiative aims to strengthen transparency, guarantee fiscal equality, and reduce informality in the digital economy.
"Our objective is for full legal harmonization to be completed by 2026, while the reporting system to be functional no later than 2027, marking another important step in the alignment of the Albanian Tax Administration with European Union standards, for the improvement and modernization of tax administration ," the General Directorate of Taxation's press release underlines.
