January-November, around 1.5 million visitors to cultural sites - Minister Gonxhja: Heritage, 53% increase in visitor numbers

The country's cultural sites were visited by around 1.5 million domestic and foreign visitors in 9 months. Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sports, Blendi Gonxhja, has published figures for the period January-November 2025, showing the growing interest in Albania's cultural heritage.
Also, national cultural heritage sites and museums across the country have recorded a 53% increase in visitor numbers in the months of January-November of this year, compared to the same period in 2023, which indicates a positive and sustainable trend in visitor numbers and the promotion of the country's cultural wealth.
From national museums, which welcomed 455,872 visitors, to archaeological parks with 615,047 visitors, as well as forts and cultural monuments that registered 421,737 visitors, they are indicators of the development of cultural tourism and the increase in the attractiveness of these destinations.
The year 2025 has confirmed a steady increase in flows and an ever-increasing interest in the country's history, identity and cultural values. This positive trend is also reinforced by incentive policies, as on the last Sunday of each month, entry is free for local visitors, serving as an open invitation to further discover the cultural treasures that unite and represent society, emphasizes Minister Gonxha.
