Parliament ratifies: Albania, member of the Peace Board - Rama: Another opportunity to contribute to peace
With the vote in favor of all deputies present at the session, the Albanian Parliament has ratified the agreement to admit Albania, represented by Prime Minister Edi Rama, to the Charter of the Peace Board, following the official invitation sent by US President Donald Trump for us to be a member country.
Each Member State shall have a term of office of three years from the date of entry into force of the Charter. This term may be renewed by the Chairman of the Peace Board. The three-year term shall not apply to Member States which contribute more than one billion US dollars in cash within the first year of entry into force of the Charter.
Albania will also contribute a certain amount. This contribution is voluntary.
Prime Minister Edi Rama has praised Albania's participation in the Peace Board, which, according to him, constitutes a development of particular importance for the country's foreign policy and diplomacy.
The Peace Board is an international organization, with the aim of promoting stability, restoring credible and legitimate governance, and ensuring sustainable peace in areas affected or threatened by conflict.
