Fuel compensation - 116 public transport entities benefit from the scheme

The increase in fuel costs has brought another support measure for public transport operators. The Tax Administration has fully disbursed the fund foreseen to compensate for the increase in fuel prices for public transport operators.
It is a fund of 119.7 million lek, from which 116 entities operating in the public transport sector have benefited. The compensation scheme aims to mitigate the effect of increasing operating costs for operators, where fuel constitutes one of the main items of expenditure.
According to the Tax Administration, the allocated fund has been implemented at 100%, guaranteeing the full disbursement of the amount foreseen for this scheme. The financial support comes in the context of increased operating costs and aims to assist operators in the continuity of public transport service to citizens.
However, this scheme does not include companies operating urban lines in Tirana. For these operators, the compensation for the increase in fuel prices is covered by the Municipality of Tirana, through its urban public transport support scheme.
In total, the Tax Administration reports that 116 entities have benefited from the scheme, with a value of 119.7 million lek. The measure aims to ease the cost burden for operators and support the continuity of public transport service.
