INSTAT: In 2025, over 10% of sales were made through online commerce

Online commerce is increasingly taking up space in Albania as well. According to the latest data published by INSTAT, more than 10 percent of the country's trade turnover is made through online purchases and sales. According to INSTAT, "During 2025, the value of the turnover generated by online sales resulted in 10.1%, experiencing an increase of 0.6%, compared to 2024. The largest share of the turnover generated is occupied by enterprises operating in the field of wholesale and retail trade with 46.1% and Information and Communication activities with 16.5%.
Detailed figures by company show that almost one in three companies use online commerce to buy or sell their products. According to INSTAT: In 2025, 28.0% of companies sold products or services via websites, dedicated applications, e-commerce websites and applications used by various companies for product trade. Compared to 2024, the number of companies involved in online commerce has increased by 3.5%. According to detailed data, “The largest share of e-commerce is occupied by companies operating in the field of Accommodation and Food Service with 48.2%, followed by Professional, Scientific and Technical activities with 44.8% and Information and Communication activities with 43.3%”.
