The Consulate General of Albania in Struga officially opens! - Hasani: A direct means to be closer to our citizens!
Today, the Consulate General of Albania in Struga was officially inaugurated, a new consular structure that aims to better serve Albanian citizens in this area and strengthen cooperation between the two countries.
The ceremony was attended by the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs of Albania, Igli Hasani, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade of North Macedonia, Timco Mucunski, as well as representatives of local authorities, the diplomatic corps and the Albanian community.
Hasani described the opening of the consulate as a concrete action to provide more accessible consular services to citizens and to facilitate procedures during periods of high influx, especially during the tourist season.
"This office is a direct tool to be closer to our citizens and to build practical cooperation in areas of mutual interest," he said.
He added that the consulate will also help strengthen ties between institutions and communities in both countries, creating spaces for economic, cultural and educational cooperation.
Ministers Hasani and Mucunski also held a bilateral meeting where they discussed regional cooperation, the EU integration process, and current developments in Southeast Europe.
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to advancing relations between Albania and North Macedonia in a pragmatic and sustainable manner.
The new consulate will cover the areas of Struga, Ohrid, Manastir, Kicevo, Dibra, Gevgelija and Resen.
