'Tax invoice for products' – Denaj: Let's reduce informality in the agricultural sector!
As of today, the obligation to issue a tax invoice for every sale of food products, including agricultural and livestock products, even by farmers, has come into effect.
The Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Anila Denaj, announced that this step is part of a broad national strategy aimed at formalizing the agri-food economy, increasing the traceability of agricultural products, and guaranteeing consumer rights to controlled and safe food.
According to this initiative, every food business operator, including farmers who market their produce, is obliged to issue a tax invoice for every sale made.
"Electronic invoicing becomes the standard form of reporting and is expected to significantly help reduce the level of informality, while at the same time enabling accurate tracking of the product distribution chain ," said Denaj.
Authorities have announced that entities that trade without a tax invoice will face inspections and punitive measures under the law "On Tax Procedures".
This initiative brings significant benefits not only to consumers, who will have certainty about the origin and composition of the products they consume, but also to the farmers and producers themselves who become formalized.
Through this process, they gain the opportunity to benefit from fiscal support, including access to subsidies, loans and development programs dedicated to the sector, and also, the formalization and certification of Albanian products increases its competitiveness in both the domestic and international markets.
