Albanian immigrants are earning more money! - 154 million euros in salary in 3 months. In one year they increased by 12%
From working abroad, Albanian emigrants have benefited from 154.7 million euros during the first three months of 2025. According to data from the Bank of Albania, compared to the same period last year, income from emigrants' salaries has increased by about 18 million euros, or 12%.
The expansion of the number of emigrants in labor markets abroad, but also due to the orientation towards countries with higher wages, have mainly influenced this increase.
Germany, France, and even countries across the Atlantic, such as the United States and Canada, directly influence the increase in income that immigrants create outside Albania, bringing a positive effect on the economy through remittances.
In fact, transfers coming from emigrants to families in Albania increased by 4% in the first quarter of 2025, compared to the corresponding period last year.
A significant part of this growth is reflected in remittances. More income for migrants means more money sent back to families back home.
In fact, remittances increased by 4% in the first quarter of this year, compared to the same period in 2024.
However, this increase is not directly proportional to the increase in income from wages, which indicates that not all of the increase in emigrant income is immediately reflected in transfers to Albania.
