Funding for beekeeping doubled - Salla: 10 thousand euros in grants for young people in livestock farming. IPARD III unlocked

The National Agricultural Support Scheme, applications for which are expected to open soon, will change this year. At a press conference, Minister of Agriculture Andis Salla announced details of the new scheme, according to which for the first time grants will be applied to young people who invest in livestock farming up to 10 thousand euros. On the other hand, support for beekeepers will be doubled, reaching 2 thousand lek per hive.
"I want to say here today that in the new measures that we have discussed so far with the package and the changes that we will make in the new package of the National Scheme, we have discussed deciding for young men and women from 18 to 35 the opportunity that we will give them from 7 to 10 thousand euros. We are looking at it with finances to discuss financial support to calculate that every young man and woman who opens a business, mainly in livestock, is part of our support. We must introduce the role of young men and women to be part of this important system for us, to support this sector, which we must grow, and young men and women to be part of this package. We will decide it in the form of a grant so that they are part of this package that we will decide very soon. Regarding the support package, we have also discussed with the staff about supporting beekeeping. Beekeeping is a sector that has grown significantly in recent years. From "From 2020 to 2025, we have gone from over 300 thousand hives to over 600 thousand. The goal is to increase it to 1 million, doubling support for this important sector. In addition to direct support for beekeeping, there will also be 10% for every kilogram of honey, as part of the chain we have established to support them."
The minister also announced that the European Union's agricultural support program, IPARD III, is expected to open within June.
"We are ready in all the processes that we have concluded in the task that we have to continue. On the 9th, I will be in Brussels together with the team to continue the further steps, in order to continue with the opening and opening of this very important sector, where there are over 112 million euros from the European Union and the rest, supported by the Albanian government, bringing the budget to 147 million. We have a complete package this year to support farmers. 5.2 billion lek are part of the AZHBR package and support from the Albanian government fund. The rest is the Sovereign Guarantee, a support sector for farmers, and IPARD about 147 million euros, which we will allocate directly to farmers. It is an opportunity for every farmer to be part of this package and be supported by the Albanian government, so that those hearings and what has been requested of us directly from them, we are ready and can guide them. It is important to say this in order to support farmers."
Regarding food safety, the Minister emphasized that in addition to the Agronomist's Order, 7 laboratories will be established throughout the territory of Albania to cover the food safety sector and 5 border points for exports and imports will be equipped with laboratories.
