'Two underground public parking lots in Vlora' - Rama: New legal

Prime Minister Edi Rama held a meeting today with local representatives of the Vlora municipality as well as district deputies, where they discussed the problems encountered in the city, among which he highlighted the problem with parking and drinking water.

Rama announced that work has begun on two large underground public parking lots and will continue with other investments in this direction.

He also said that the Traffic Police will be strict with parking in the city.  "But on the other hand, this does not justify parking in the city, this does not justify the abuse of drivers with pedestrians and for this reason the Traffic Police in Vlora will be very strict with parking that blocks traffic on the streets of Vlora," Rama stressed.

Regarding the problem with drinking water, the head of government emphasized that it comes from the mismanagement of the Vlora water supply system as well as from the abuse of citizens. Rama said that the Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy is preparing a new legal package that aims to comprehensively address the problem of improving the supply of drinking water, especially in tourist areas.

"The other problem, which I believe has been addressed, is the problem of drinking water, due to the load that the city has in this period and due to the investments that must continue. But, what we have found, first, is a mismanagement in recent years of the Vlora water supply. This, combined with a major abuse of drinking water by consumers who use drinking water to irrigate gardens or wash cars. For this reason, the Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy is preparing a new legal package regarding drinking water with which I hope, wish and believe we will baptize the fourth mandate that will comprehensively address the problem of further improving the supply of drinking water, especially in tourist areas ," the Prime Minister said.
